Description Lot 11588-54: Middle East Activities. Two men of the squadron called Colonel Colbet’s Circassians, with their vehicle, showing their sign. After braving many dangers, they rode many miles over high mountain ranges in order to avoid frontier posts and forded the River Jordan to join the British. These tough riders are of Turkish extraction and are under French leadership, circa 1942. Office of War Information Photograph, 7996-ZE. (2016/02/11).
