Count and Countess James Minotto, sketched in court.

Count James Minotto, son-in-law of Lewis F. Swift, Chicago packer, has lost his fight to escape internment on a presidential warrant before Federal Judge George A. Carpenter of Chicago. Minotto claimed to be an Italian, but the judge found him to be a German. His wife, who was formerly Ida May Swift, will be classed as an alien enemy until the close of the war.
