Summary
[edit]DescriptionLooking up the bypass - geograph.org.uk - 1279728.jpg |
English: Looking up the bypass View up the Dorchester bypass. I don't think the residents of the time realised the impact it would have on them when asking for it. Within a couple of months two petrol stations had shut down and the shops stopped seeing the people who would stop on the way whilst travelling through. In fact quite a few shops went to the wall. There were complaints by locals that the place had become forgotten, what would you expect when cars drive past the place at 60 MPH. Mind you I have lived in the area all my life and have yet to visit the abbey there. |
