Summary

[edit]
Description Looking across the river from the base of the statue of St Vakhtang Gorgasali, King of Georgia (see previous picture) you see the hill with the Narikala Fortress (more on that later) and the large statue of Kartlis Deda, more commonly know as the Mother of Georgia (or the Georgians as some put it), also called 'Mamma Georgia' statue. More on those later. The township in the foreground is the Old Town district, more commonly referred to as Old Tbilisi. More on all those in subsequent captions. (Tbilisi, Georgia, Sept. 2016)
