Title
English: Looking northwest from 5th Ave. and Pike St. toward the Washington Hotel, Seattle, Washington, 1904.
Description
English: Central Business District. Washington hotel at 3rd Ave. and Stewart St .

On verso of image: "1904. Washington Hotel, northwest from Seaboard Bldg., 4th and Pike St."
  • Subjects (LCSH): Washington Hotel (Seattle, Wash.); Hotels--Washington (State)--Seattle; Church buildings--Washington (State)--Seattle; Dwellings--Washington (State)--Seattle; Business enterprises--Washington (State)--Seattle; Central business districts--Washington (State)--Seattle

This is actually from 5th & Pike, not 4th & Pike, despite what it apparently says on the verso. The Norwegian-Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church (at left) was at 4th & Pine; the hotel grounds spanned from Second Avenue to Fourth, with Third coming right toward the main entrance. See File:Sanborn Seattle 1905 - map 209.jpg.
