English: A personally taken photo of the city of Nagasaki, looking east, on August 1st, 1945 by Flight Officer Bruce C. Saxton of the 7th Air Force, 11th Bomb Group, with the photo taken from a B-24 bomber. This photo was taken only eight days before the atomic bombing of the city itself. The photo was developed on November 26, 1945 and the writing on the back reads: "Looking east up harbor - Nagasaki". The date of the photo is from the mission, cataloged as on August 1st, 1945 in a mission log. |
