Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Longridge 1st railway station (site), Lothian
Opened in 1845 by the Wilsontown, Morningside & Coltness Railway, this short-lived terminus station closed in 1848. View south west towards Crofthead and Morningside from approximately where the buffers were. The railway was taken over by the Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway who extended the line to Bathgate in 1850 on a new alignment a few metres further north, and opened a new platform - see NS9561 : Longridge 2nd railway station (site), Lothian. No trace of either station apparently remains.
