English: Royal Exchange, Bank Intersection, 1955. View eastwards across the major intersection of seven roads at Bank: to the left is Threadneedle Street, to the right is Cornhill. The equestrian statue in front of the colonnade is of the Duke of Wellington. Lots of people - all well-dressed - are mingling calmly with the relatively few road vehicles. About a dozen bus routes converged here: the one heading along Cornhill seems to be a 15 (Ladbroke Grove - East Ham |
