[edit]DescriptionLom V Kozle Srbsko Obr E.png |
English: The V Kozle limestone quarry, later called Alkazar. A view of the bridge and the groove running across it between Hostim I and Hostim II quarries. In 1928, the Prague Iron Company expanded its mining operations from Hostim I quarry eastwards into the valley of the Loděnický Brook (Kačák). A series of five quarries were built on both sides of the stream under the collective name of Hostim II (later referred to as 'Lesní divadlo'). Quarrying activity in Hostim I and Hostim II was terminated during World War II. The limestone quarried from Hostim II was transported by a narrow-gauge railway over a pair of bridges to the bottom of Hostim I and then transported by cable car to the Berounka River. In 1944, a narrow-gauge railway line was built connecting Hostim I quarry with Beroun. |
