Description
English: Locul Calicilor or Locul Mișeilor ("The Place of Wretches"), a slum set aside for beggars in Iași, Moldavia, which existed on that spot between ca. 1540 and 1864; superimposed on the street grid of modern-day Iași. Petru Rareș Street was named in honor of the Moldavian Prince who founded the slum, after residents asked for references to the "wretches" be dropped from official records.
