Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Lock and flood gates at Lydney Harbour. The left-hand gate is the inner lock gate of the harbour basin. It's a chevron gate facing inland (rightwards), to resist water in the canal during low tides. The right-hand, higher, gate is part of recent flood defences, built in 2007. As these gates have to restrain high water outside the gate, these chevron gates face the opposite direction to the lock gates.
