| Description |
English: Lock House, Marbury. After WW1 the home of the Edwards family who despite having no electricity, gas, telephone, running water or inside toilet housed evacuees from Liverpool during WW2 in 1941. Some bombs were dropped into the surrounding fields and Fred Edwards the lock keeper found that a teaspoonful of the white powder taken from the unscrewed unexploded incendiary bombs was ideal for lighting his fire of a morning. |
