Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Lochan Leum an t-Sagairt This loch in Glen Pean is passed by climbing the slopes on the south of the loch. There is NO path on the north as some maps indicate. Its name, 'The lochan of the Priest's leap', refers to an incident in clan days when a priest pursued by enemies found his way ahead also blocked. He is said to have jumped into the loch and swam to escape. A desperate measure since the loch is bitterly cold throughout the year.Bonnie Prince Charlie passed through here in his escape from Culloden on 18th April 1746. A hard man!
