| Description |
English: Locally Manufactured Lampstandards The southmost Mackenzie Bros (ironfounders, Edinburgh) lighting column in Harrison Road. This column has a bit of a lean but is sound. The ornate bracket is fitted with a 90w sodium lantern. The outer layer of thistle tracery would have been removed during the conversion from GLS (bulb) to tubular lighting. This alteration was not required on all of the lamp standards in Harrison Road. Those which were cast by the Falkirk Iron Co. have a longer drop from the bracket to the lantern and were therefore able to retain all of the tracery. |
