[edit]DescriptionLlyn Celyn, Cwm Tryweryn, Gwynedd Gwanwyn 2024 - Cwm Celyn, Wales drowned by Liverpool, England in Spring 2024 16.jpg |
Cymraeg: Pentref ger y Bala yn Sir Feirionnydd a gafodd ei foddi ym 1965 i greu cronfa ddŵr (Llyn Celyn) ar gyfer trigolion Lerpwl oedd Capel Celyn.
Yn 2024 roedd gwaith adeiladu'n digwydd yno. Mae Dŵr Cymru wedi dechrau adeiladu ail gorlifan wrth y gronfa ddŵr, yn agos at faes parcio'r argae, i sianelu dŵr i lawr i Afon Tryweryn islaw. Mae sianel dŵr dal a siambr fesur llif hefyd wedi'u cynllunio. Mae hyn yn dilyn archwiliad lle nododd y peiriannwyr fod perygl categori A os yw lefel y dwr yn codi'n rhy uchel.English: Capel Celyn was a village near Bala in Merionethshire which was drowned in 1965 to create a reservoir (Llyn Celyn) for Liverpool residents.
In 2024 construction was taking place there. Dŵr Cymru (Welsh Water) has begun building a second spillway at the reservoir, close to the dam-side car park, to channel surplus water underground down to Afon Tryweryn below. A catchwater channel and flow measurement chamber are also planned. On inspection in 2019, the reservoir was found to “failing within dam category A”.
