Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Llangollen Station When the line between Ruabon and Barmouth closed in January 1965, Wales lost one of its most scenic railway routes. One of the highlights was Llangollen station built hard by the tumbling waters of the River Dee where, it is said, passengers could watch salmon leaping the falls while awaiting departure. Fortunately, the station and a short stretch of line to the west has been revived as a heritage railway, whose presence is advertised by these Western Region drop-arm semaphore signals.
