| Description |
English: Llandovery War Memorial
Located in a narrow grassed area in the centre of Llandovery, the War Memorial was erected in 1924 to commemorate the residents of Llandovery who were killed or missing in the Great War, now usually referred to as the First World War or World War I. The years shown are 1914-1919. Although the fighting ended after the Armistice was signed on November 11th 1918, the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers did not end until the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28th 1919. The names of the local people who were killed, or missing presumed killed, in World War II were added on another side of the Memorial. |
