DescriptionLiving statue, Paris 1996.jpg |
Paris 1996. He took off the head piece for a smoke and Heather and I asked him why did he do this (i.e., how did he land on this particular shtick)? He shrugged in an appropriately Gallic fashion and said "I do it because it's what I can do." Which, you know, makes me wonder if maybe he wasn't really giving himself enough credit as I am sure he has other skills beyond standing. We had stopped and taken the pic for a laff but his answer was a small injection of French melancholic existentialism into the moment. |
