Since Mr. Allen wrote, the Hereford.s have been tried in many West-ern States, and in no respect either in kindly fattening, early maturity orheavy weights have they failed fairly to comjDete with the best Short-Horns in the principal prize fairs of the West, often carrying off thehighest honors.
