DescriptionLisbon tram speeding in Alfama.jpg |
The main tourist attraction in Lisbon are the "roller coaster-mode" trams speeding around the historic areas of Alfama, Baixa Chiado and Bairo Alto. These cars were once imported from the US and called Elétricos. Now they are replaced by the new Lisbon Metro system on most non-tourist lines, with a notable exception of a line to Belém using more modern, articulated trams. |
