DATURA CORNUCOPIA, HORN OF PLENTY^'
Discovered in South Africa by a collector of Orchids. The plant is of robust
habit, with thick, dark, brown-purple, shining stems. The branches are numerous,
spreading 3 or 4 feet; thick, large, dark green colored leaves. The flowers are trum-
pet-shaped, measuring 8 or 10 inches in length and 5 to T inches across the mouth,
and form three distinct flowers growing each within the other. The mouth of the
corolla is the most delicate white, beautifully marked with purple. A single plant
gives from 200 to 300 fragrant blooms during the season, followed by a large, thorny
seed vessel, which adds to its beauty; is one of easiest culture; plant at the end of
May in a warm, rich soil; can be cultivated as an isolated specimen, in masses for
center of beds or to fill barren places, and produces a striking eflreet.
