| Description | It was then time to leave the Masai Mara and head towards Lake Nakuru. It's not flamingos and pelicans alone at Nakuru: we also have waterbuck, white rhino, Rotschild's Giraffe, eland, python (not seen), impala, baboons and of course lions. Here is our welcoming committee: even my driver guide was surprised at these two lionesses a few feet from the road, seen moments after entering the Lake Nakuru Game reserve. One cub kept touching his mother's face with his paw, only to be licked lovingly by his mother (the one on the left), but I could not photograph that, confined as I was to my seat. My driver guide very kindly pushed his driver's seat right back to that I could get a better view, so this was the best I could do in that situation. (Oct/ Nov 2010) |
