English: Lion Salt Works Restoration Begins In July 2009 works began to restore and preserve the Lion Salt Works. The site is now owned by a new unitary authority - Cheshire West and Chester Council. Works is being funded by a grant of £4.96m from the Heritage Lottery Fund and awaiting a £1m grant from the NWDA. THe Enabling Works are being carried out by William Anelays Ltd under the architects Donald Insall Associates of Chester. Stove House 5 shown here is being dismantled during August and September and will be rebuilt in 2010. There is a diary blog describing the works at www.lionsaltworks.blogspot.com |
