Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 40 km north from Gwalior on NH 3 Morena village houses a famous cluster of temples dedicated to the Hindu gods Shiva and Visnu constructed sometimes between CE 8-10 centuries by the Gurjar Pratihara kings based in Kanauj, north India. The Parihars claimed to be Suryabanshees , descendants of the solar lineage of kings . Garhi Padwali Shiva temple earns its name by being placed within the complex of a huge fort. Only the mukhamandapa of the temple survives. Every inch of its stone is densely curved with most exquisite ornate designs.
