Description
English: Line of Disused Railway near Scalford, Leicestershire. This cutting into the farmland was the line of the GNR/LNWR Melton to Nottingham railway line. It was an important link to the national network for the mineral railways that serviced the once thriving ironstone industry in the area. See http://www.nottm-melton-railway.co.uk/c17/page254.htm for more information on the ironstone branch lines.
