rtant thantheir sight. The eyes of the blind being intheir fingers, I made up my mind thatthe blind could do this work, ofwhich there is practically an unlimitedamount and which must be done. Twomonths ago I founded the DoubleDuty Finger Guild at 22 Park avenue.Ampere, and induced a few blindmen to take up the work. Under theinstruction of a winding expert theysoon learned the trade and now thereare more than a score and otherscoming In as soon as there is roomfor them. Among the blind are threecolored men and three women, all ofwhom are doing excellent work. Blind soldiers from the armies ofthe allies are soon expected to drivefor training in this work, so that theymay return home and teach othersto be self-supporting.
