Description The M5A1 Stuart (official name: Light Tank, M5A1), a U.S. Army light tank introduced in late 1942 and (like its M5 predecessor) known as the "Stuart VI" in British service. The M5A1 used the turret from the M3A3; this turret had a rear extension for the radio compartment and had moved the anti-aircraft machine gun mount to the right side. This particular M5A1 is wearing side skirts over the upper tracks.
