| Description | Lift bridge over Bayou LaFourche, at Leeville, Louisiana, on former alignment of Louisiana Highway 1. View is looking northwest. A new section of LA 1 opened here in July 2009, on a different alignment, and includes a fixed-span bridge. The 1970-built lift bridge was subsequently dismantled. Of the highway sections that led to the lift bridge, the one to the north dead-ends at the water, and that to the south (foreground of this view) has been removed entirely. (Note: Bridge was not located at Grand Isle, LA, and view is looking away from Grand Isle.) | |||
