Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Liffey Junction railway station (site), Dublin
Opened in 1864 by the Midland & Great Western Railway on what is today the line from Dublin Connolly to Clonsilla, this station closed to passengers in 1937 and completely in 1977, and was later mostly demolished. View east from the current Broombridge station. The line towards Drumcondra and Connolly curves left, with the original line to the M&GWR's terminus at Broadstone being straight on - now occupied by the LUAS tram line. The station's former water tower in still visible in the centre of the image. Some portions of platform were also still extant when this image was taken.
