At this point should be mentioned the childrenwhich came to William Taylor Baker and Eliza AnnieDunster through this union. 1. William Dunster Baker, named for his father and hismaternal grandfather, Samuel Dunster, was born at Attleboro,Massachusetts, September 12, 1863. He was a frail and sicklybaby and his mother was unable to give him the health andstrength necessary to prolong his life. He died July 27th,1864, at the age of 10 months and 15 days, and was buried inGraceland Cemetery, Chicago. 2. Charles Hinckley Baker—the author of this book—named in honor of his fathers first Chicago employer andsubsequent partner, Charles Hinckley, was born in Chicago,November 30, 1864. He was educated at Cornell University,from which he was graduated with honors as a civil engineerin June, 1886. He at once entered railroad engineering and
