Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The sign of the Leyland Lion pub in Leyland, Lancashire. It's a transport themed pub, celebrating the history of the town in producing buses (see List of Leyland buses). The name refers to the Lion model produced between 1926 and 1940. The pub incorporates elements of the Lion, and the sign features a model of one, in the colours of Ribble Motor Services. (A preserved 1927 example can be seen in the Museum of Transport in Manchester, no. 295, reg. CK 3825). It opened in October 2011 in Hough Lane, on the site of the towns fomer post office.
