Description
English: Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower

Rising above the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, this monument marks the site where famed explorers, Captains Merriweather Lewis and William Clark, began their westward trek. It began as a grassroots project of Hartford citizens seeking to commemorate the bicentennial of the start of the expedition. It was designed by KAI of St. Louis, Missouri, with funding raised by the Village of Hartford. It opened May 14, 2010, the 216th anniversary of when the expedition first set sail from nearby Camp River Dubois.

Visitors can climb to vantage points at 50, 100, and 150 feet by stairs or elevator, accompanied by a tour guide. The tower is ADA accessible, and open seven days per week except for major holidays.
