Summary
[edit]DescriptionLevoy theater.JPG |
English: Levoy Theatre, added to the NRHP in August 14, 1998, removed from the list on July 17, 2013. At 126-130 N. High St. in downtown Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey. Obviously undergoing reconstruction at the time of this photo. One thing that is difficult to show in a photo is its size. It is 2-3 times as long as anything else on the block (back from the street). At the back it is about 3 times as wide as it is in the front, something to do with the stage or back stage arrangements. It's huge compared to the regular small town theater - maybe seating 5,000 (guess) |

The Theater is scheduled to begin re-construction in late April 2010. The seating at one time was close to 1,000 but will be 700 when re configured with enhanced access and improved public space. The project can be viewed at levoy.org . The shape is classic and the fly space is second to none in the area. The venue will host an array of talent beginning approximately the first day of spring 2011.
