Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Leucophanite, Aegirine
Locality: Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry; Carrière Mont Saint-Hilaire), Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
FOV 7.0 x 4.4 mm. Via Dave W. MOB coll.
The aegirine may look like soft grass but it is stiff and sharper than a needle. It is hard to handle this specimen without getting some stuck in your fingers. The label says "serandite, catapleiite, eudialyte". I'm still looking for the first two. But it's hard to go wrong with MSH. The pale yellowish leucophanite xls are very small but there are dozens of them and some are partly gemmy and well formed.
Deutsch: Leukophan, Aegirin (Sichtfeld 7,0 x 4,4 mm)
Fundort: Steinbruch Poudrette (Demix, Uni-Mix, Desourdy), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Kanada
