English: Requests that medical supplies be sent to Kansas City, Missouri, and Springfield, Missouri.
Transcription: Warresnsburg Mo Oct 28th 1864 Surgeon Madison Mills Ufa Medical Director St Louis Mo, I reported for duty to Genl Rosecrans last evening here. All wounded thus far reported are collecting at Kansas City and will not exceed including rebels seven hundred (700) men Please send thither Hospital Supplies for one thousand (1000) patients and three (3) medical officers ship via North Missouri Rail Road unless boats can run through — No communication between this point and Kansas City. Please send supplies for command of five thousand (5000) to Springfield Mo — Please send as soon as possible a commissioned medical officer as act medical purveyor to this place with supplies for a command of twenty thousand (20.000) men let him en route bring with him the supplies already forwarded to me which I have included in the above estimate.
