Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "...on board shot shell, grape & canister for the 9in guns. The grape-shot are 3 ½ or 4in in diameter and done up in cases 20 in a case to be fired at once. The canister are in tin-cans 9in in diameter and 12in long.

I think you done well. I was glad to learn of the welfare of the cat and the chickens. Write again both of you (and Mary too) and I will answer your letters. We will probably take an 8 mos cruise and as we take only 1600 tons of coal we will have to..."
