| Description |
English: The region of the former Nymphaeum or monumental fountain was, befittingly, mostly submerged, so one can only fathom its contours. It's to the west of the temples, and the Sacred Road. It's from the Hellenistic Period, and a semicircular pool was added in Roman times. During one visit frogs were providing a constant background sound which was fitting because Leto was supposed to have turned peasants who refused her to allow her to drink water from a pond into frogs. |
