Deutsch: 1912/13 hielt sich Lesser Ury in Holland auf. Hier schuf er vor allem Gemälde, die das ländliche Milieu wiedergeben, wie Dorfansichten, Fluß- und Kanalszenen. Nach seinem Aufenthalt wurden die holländischen Landschaften in einer großen Ausstellung der Galerie Schulte gezeigt und ernteten großen Zuspruch.
Entlang eines diagonal nach links in die Bildtiefe führenden Kanals stehen zwei Windmühlen. An den Hängen, die den Kanal einfassen, sind einige lagernde und weidende Kühe zu sehen. Am noch etwas wolkenverhangenen Himmel kreisen Möwen. Das Motiv hat Ury auf der Halbinsel Walcheren in der Provinz Zeeland in der Nähe von Domburg, einem internationalem Kurort und Treff bedeutender Künstler wie Jan Toorop und Piet Mondrian eingefangen - es ist ein ausgesprochen schönes Beispiel für die meisterhafte Wiedergabe von Licht und Luft durch den Künstler.
