Toutes ces figures nous confirment quon a voulu peindreici les douze mois de lannée, & font conformes à un Calen-drier antique rapporté par Grutter , CXXXVIIL Jupiter ypréfide au mois de Juillet; Vénus à AvriK; Diane à Novem-bre ; Vefta a Décembre ; Mars à Odlobre ; Vulcaia à Sep-tembre ; Cérès au mois dAoût ; Mercure à Juin ; Apollon àîflai ; Minerve à Mars ; Neptune à Février, & enfin Junonau mois de Janvier. Plufieurs Peuples , entrautres les Habitans de Chypre & deFaf hos, par une baffe adulation , tentèrent de donner aux moisde lannée les noms & furnoms de quelques Princes. LEm-pereur Commode voulut fe décerner lui-même cet honneur ;
