quun tronc de Figuier 9Je luis Dieu, gra.e à louvrier. PlancheCXIX. Ces deux petits fujets ont été découverts enfemble dans lesexcavations de Gragnano, en 1754. Le premier vafe du premier Tableau eft de couleur dor. Lefécond qui paroît doré à lextérieur, eft peint en argent dans lin-térieur. Le troifième eft linverfe du précédent ^ ceft-à-dire,dor en dedans, dargent en dehors. Le premier vafe du fécond cadre eft dor , lautre dargent :le troifième dor auflî, a un manche dune forme particulière;il eft long, élevé, va en saminciflant jufquà fon extrémité quile courbe & fe roule fur elle-même. Nous avons déjà vu dans nos Planches précédentes des cer-cles garnis danneaux, & dautres objets femblables à ceux quife trouvent répétés fur cette Planche. Planche CXX. Tom m. ( i9t ) cheur ; rîen de plus galant que le candélabre qui occupe lemilieu de cette agréable compofition , peinte fur un fond blanc.Le milieu ell: cannelé & de couleur rouge. Le bas reoréfenteune efpèce de vafe jaune , orné de feuillages , & fur les bordsduquel font perchés deux perroquets au naturel. De ce vafe fortune colunne entrelaffée de feuilles vertes, & de fleurs blanches& rouges, avec quelques fruits. Un petit pavillon jaune eft au-deflus. Deux figures laccompagnent, poCéei fur un pied: luneeft un jeune homme ; une draperie rouge retombe par-defius fonbras ; de la main droite, il porte une efpèce de rameau darbre.Lautre eft une jeune femme , dont la draperie jaune , bordée deronge, laifTe tout fon fein à découvert. De la main elle porte auftiune petite branche ou quelque plante. Ces deux figures ont unpied en lair & fe tiennent dune main à deux rameaux enlaffésautour du candélabre.
