Object history Commandé par Expo 67 et offert par la Maison Seagram, ce groupe de sculptures a été exposé à Montréal, d'abord à l'Aménagement de la place des Nations située à la pointe sud de l'île Sainte-Hélène, dans le cadre de l'Exposition universelle de 1967 de Montréal puis à Terre des Hommes en 1968. À la demande de la Maison Seagram, il en a été fait don à l'Université Laval. L'œuvre a été retirée de l'espace public en 2016.
Notes Lors de la relocalisation de l'œuvre en 1969 sur le campus de l'Université Laval, le second personnage n'a pas été orienté de la même façon qu'il ne l'était sur le site de la place des Nations. De plus, la plaque d'identification originale a été remplacée par une plaque plus imposante. Celle-ci a été apposée au sol, au centre des quatre personnages situés plus au nord. Cette plaque a été retirée en juillet 1987.
