Summary
[edit]DescriptionLeppa suku Bajau.jpg |
English: Maritime culture that continues to this day is the presence of sea tribes, such as the native fishermen of Belitung Island known as the Sea Tribe, Sekak Tribe, Ameng Sewang Tribe who make the sea their home. While the most phenomenal is the Bajau tribe in this Tom Bay area (Sulawesi), and around the waters of the Malay Land Peninsula. They inhabit the leppa (houseboat), from birth to death. This tribe has existed since the days of the Sriwijaya kingdom, and still exists today even though there are not many of them. One proof of the robustness of maritime cultural traditions can also be seen in the tradition of sea and sea anchor parties which are always held in coastal areas in this archipelago. Various activities, from those that are mystical to festive, such as giving offerings to competitions are part of Indonesia's marine cultural wealth.
