Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Leominster Canal north of Park Farm This short remaining section is very much silted up with very little water depth. The ill-fated Leominster Canal was one of those late canal-age projects which never made any money. Only part of the planned route from Stourbridge to Kington opened in 1796 and even that had difficulties attracting traffic, compounded when one of the tunnels collapsed. The canal was sold to the Shrewsbury & Hereford Railway in 1858, who laid track on part of its course.
