[edit]DescriptionLeocarpus fragilis.Myxomycetes of Russia.jpg |
English: Leocarpus fragilis
The fruit body consists of a sporangium (spore-displacement) and a fragile small translucent stem, the total construction height is 2-4 mm. Sporangia 1.5–3.0 mm long and 0.5–1.5 mm thick, usually located in close bunches, cylindrical, ellipsoid, ovate, rarely spherical, glossy-shiny, of various colors: red-orange, bright red, red-brown, yellow, pale yellow, ocher, mustard-brown. The outer shell (peridium) is smooth, three-layered - with a fragile and thin outer layer, with a hard consistency, a thick middle layer and with a thin membranous inner layer associated with capillary. The leg is short and thin, as a rule, 0.5-1.5 mm long and 0.05-0.10 mm thick, wedge-shaped widened, ribbed, flatish, fragile, white, pale yellow, pale at the point of connection with the substrate ocher, pale ocher-gray. Capillicia (sporiferous filaments) in the form of a network of colorless branched, flattened thin filaments connecting the rigid white extensions or bulges, on which lime granules are located. The spores are spherical, finely bordered, brown, with a diameter of 11-18 microns. Plasmodium (vegetative body) is yellow or orange-yellow. It grows from mid-July to late September on the forest floor, which fell last year's needles and leaves, on mosses (it is believed that sporangia of a light ocher coloration predominate on mosses), on living grass and shrubs, on decaying wood of coniferous (less deciduous) species, clusters, infrequently. Due to its small size and insufficient knowledge, by default, the species is considered inedible. The brilliant fruit bodies of Leocarpus brittle, changeable in shape and color, have no analogues and are fairly easily and accurately identified in field conditions. For the first time a species called - Lycoperdon fragile was described by a Scottish botanist and mycologist, expert in mystery plants, James Dickson in 1785. Other scientific synonyms are Diderma vernicosum Pers., Leangium vernicosum (Pers.) Fr., Leocarpus vernicosus (Pers.) Link, Physarum vernicosum (Pers.) Schumach., Reticularia fragilis (Dicks.) Poir. (Leocarpus fragilis)
Fr., Leocarpus vernicosus (Pers.) Link, Physarum vernicosum (Pers.) Schumach., Reticularia fragilis (Dicks.) Poir. English: Leocarpus fragilis.Myxomycetes of Russia |
