Description
Español: LEO MINOR.

En la constelación de LEO MINOR, o del Pequeño León, el objeto celeste más relevante es la galaxia NGC 3003 de tipo SBbc, espiral barrada de brazos mediana a muy abiertos, con una magnitud aparente de +11.68, de dimensiones de 5,7 x 1,4 minutos de arco de grado. Fue descubierta por Willam Herschel el 7 de Diciembre de 1785.

Se la puede resolver en noches claras sin Luna llena y con un telescopio reflector mediano o con fotografia astronómica de exposición (CCD), observándola de canto.

Desde nuestras latitudes (-37º) , BETA LEO MINOR se la ve pasar por el meridiano del lugar (culminación superior) a una altura aproximadamente de 16º y observando hacia el horizonte Norte. Ver la tabla de la hora de paso de la estrella inserta en la imagen. Esta altura y horario es aproximado para la costa bonaerense y el litoral argentino.
