Italiano: Figura 2. Una curva di energia potenziale di Lennard-Jones. Il modello mostra l'energia interattiva tra 2 atomi a una distanza normalizzata, d/d0, dove d0=diametro atomico. L'energia di interazione è attrattiva dove la curva è negativa, e la grandezza dell'energia rappresenta l'energia coesiva tra una coppia di atomi.
