English: Leigh Court Barn This medieval tithe barn dates from the 14th century and is thought to be Englandd's largest Cruck building. The barn is 150 feet long and 34 feet wide (45.7m by 10.4m). Leigh Barn was used by the monks of Pershore Abbey to store the tithes (one tenth of the farm's produce) which had to be given to the church.
The barn was restored by English Heritage in the 1980s. |
