Summary

[edit]
Description The Roman baths were constructed around 160 A.D. The foundations are in the foreground. The remains of the wall was part of the baths. It is called "Jewry Wall." The name probably comes from "jurat," an early form of town councilor in Saxon times. St. Nicholas Church is in the background. It was largely constructed of building stone from Roman ruins.
