English: WASHINGTON - This week, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus and one of two Jewish Republicans in Congress, met with former Jerusalem Mayor and current Member of Knesset Nir Barkat on Capitol Hill to discuss U.S. support for Israel and new ways to approach the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “Throughout its history, Israel, the only functioning democracy in the Middle East, has faced repeated unprovoked attacks from its hostile neighbors. In the past year alone, the rise of antisemitism around the world has resulted in increased aggression toward Israel, including through the antisemitic BDS movement as well as Hamas terrorists launching rocket attacks at Israel,” said Congressman Zeldin. “It is more imperative than ever that the United States unequivocally support our greatest ally, Israel.
