A competent assistant is of the greatestimportance, and he should rapidly and carefully smoothout every wrinkle and rub well in every layer as it islaid on. The patient should be clothed in a seamless, skin-fitting knitted vest, made long enough to reach belowthe middle of the thighs, and well pulled down; itshould fit without a wrinkle or a loose place.
